Hardware Technical Program Manager | Remote
Crossing Hurdles is seeking a Technical Program Manager II to deliver complex technical programs while managing risks and ensuring alignment with executive stakeholders. The role involves collaboration with Product Design and Engineering teams to drive the development of next-generation hardware products and manage cross-functional communication and coordination.
Responsibilities
Deliver complex technical programs within defined scope, quality, timeline, and budget while managing moderate risk factors
Lead program-level strategic planning and partner with executive stakeholders for alignment and decision-making
Collaborate with Product Design and Engineering teams to define and execute next-generation hardware products
Coordinate and drive engineering design deliverables including specifications, design of experiments (DOEs), and validation plans
Work closely with cross-functional teams (Systems, Product Design, Electrical Engineering, Reliability, Operations) to establish best practices and technology development processes
Manage delivery of hardware components for development builds and drive qualification to support mass production timelines
Create and maintain development, delivery, and qualification schedules based on system requirements, technical challenges, lead times, and business needs
Optimize program structures to improve clarity, efficiency, and execution across teams
Communicate program status clearly, proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and potential setbacks
Manage communication and coordination with internal and external cross-functional partners and vendors
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline required
Experience working as a Technical Program Manager or Engineering Lead in consumer electronics environments
Strong experience with ODM, JDM, and CM vendor engagement models
Knowledge of phase-gate approaches to technology development programs
Hands-on experience with mechanical system development, design for manufacturing (DFM), tooling, and validation processes
Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with technical leadership and cross-functional teams
Strong organizational, coordination, and multitasking skills across multiple concurrent programs
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and top-issue tracking skills
Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with evolving priorities
Experience delivering technology and business solutions in large-scale, multi-platform systems environments
Preferred
MBA or other advanced degree preferred
PMP or PMI certification preferred
