Responsibilities
Lead financial reporting and month-end close processes for all properties
Own property-level budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations related to individual properties
Maintain oversight of bank accounts, debt schedules, and loan covenants for properties
Supervise preparation of AR/AP, CAM reconciliations, and lease audits
Ensure accurate lease accounting and entries into Yardi and Smartsheet systems
Oversee general ledger and financial reporting for corporate-level accounts
Develop SOPs and internal controls for company financial operations
Support audit and tax preparation with third-party accounting firms
Maintain internal reporting cadence and documentation for leadership
Oversee implementation of SOPs and delegation of operational finance tasks to accounting staff
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
7–10+ years of experience in accounting, with 5+ years in a controller or senior finance role
Strong understanding of commercial real estate, lease structures, and property-level accounting
Proficient in Yardi, AppFolio, or similar real estate accounting platforms
Proven leadership skills, including process development and team oversight
Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling multiple priorities
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
