Network Infrastructure Technician

System One is seeking a Network Infrastructure Technician to support a large-scale office and data center network relocation. The technicians will assist network engineers with moving, installing, racking, and cabling network equipment while ensuring LAN connectivity is restored.

Responsibilities

Assist with moving and staging network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, racks)

Rack and mount network hardware

Install and remove copper and fiber cabling

Perform cable management and labeling

Assist with Layer 1 and basic Layer 2 validation (link status, port connectivity)

Support cutover activities under engineer supervision

Maintain clean and organized network closets

Follow all safety and change management procedures

Local OR Nearby DC Metro candidates only. 100% onsite - no remote or relocation

Experience installing and racking network equipment

Strong knowledge of Ethernet cabling and patch panels

Understanding of LAN Layer 1 & Layer 2 concepts (ports, VLANs, link status)

Experience working in data centers or network closets

Ability to handle production equipment safely

Comfortable lifting and moving network gear (within safety limits)

This role requires hands-on physical networking experience and careful handling of production equipment

Preferred

Data center or office migration experience

Familiarity with Cisco and/or Aruba hardware

Fiber cabling experience

Experience supporting live production environments
