Engineer Plan Reviewer

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest agencies in the state, responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of North Carolinians. The Engineer Plan Reviewer will review engineering plans and specifications for health care, residential care, and detention facilities, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

Review engineering work (plans and specifications) including mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection for all health care, social care and detention type facilities requiring licensure and/or certification by state and federal government

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in an applicable field of engineering from an appropriately accredited institution
Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience
Must possess a valid driver's license and be available to travel within the State, including some overnight travel (2-3 days a month)
May require registration as a professional engineer by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors

Preferred

Demonstrated ability to review building plans and specifications
Demonstrated knowledge of the NC State Building Codes
Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing technical construction and/or engineering information
