Application Developer Analyst IV

Responsibilities

Implement computer applications of varying complexity as required in support of the mission of UF Research
Design, develop, code, and test applications
Consult with management, departments, and other staff members throughout the development and implementation process
Instruct, direct, and monitor work of other analysts and programming team members
Provide technical mentoring, coordinate, and may assign work team members
Provide expertise for the design and development of IT systems, within all levels of complexity
Lead definition of system scope and objectives based on user needs
Lead feasibility assessments, design options, development, testing, and quality assurance
Ensure all applications comply with UFIT Security standards, data governance policies, accessibility requirements, and applicable state and federal regulations
Manage software integration, external interface development, and technical documentation
Provide estimates of the analysis and development effort based on requirements
Drive development of new code/data/reports or reuse/enhancement of existing code
Participate or lead in component and architecture design, performance monitoring, and product evaluation
Ensure development of technical documentation (designs, specifications, processes)
Maintain, schedule, and execute UF Research production application programs
Make changes prior to implementations and see to proper disposition of output
Design and develop operational and analytical reporting, including data models, dashboards, and ad-hoc analyses in support of Information Services and ACS leadership decision-making

Required

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of experience
Knowledge of and demonstrable experience in delivering consistent and stable production-level services is required
Ability to organize and manage complex activities and to complete assignments in a timely fashion with attention to detail and accuracy with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are required
A criminal background check is required

Preferred

Master's or bachelor's degree in a technical field
Working knowledge of database systems, client-server systems, and web-based application development
Demonstrated ability to develop applications using a variety of technologies including, but not limited to, the following skill sets that are STRONGLY preferred: .NET, .NET Core, Entity Framework, Node.js developer, Object Oriented Programming techniques, Web API service development, Experience in C#, React, JavaScript, NPM and HTML, Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, Source code control technology; preferably Azure, GitHub, or SVN, Software risk assessment, Proficiency in query design in SQL
