Responsibilities
Technical Leadership: Serve as a team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process and oversee one or more software development teams, ensuring work is completed in accordance with process constraints
Complex Development: Design or implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints
System Design & Integration: Confer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and obtain information on project limitations, capabilities, and interfaces
Quality Control: Perform quality control on team products and implement recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
Analysis & Modification: Design, develop, and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes. Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance
Installation & Monitoring: Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met
Documentation: Write or review software and system documentation
Database Interaction: Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces and queries
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in the field of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree
An active TS/SCI with Polygraph
This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). In order to comply with the requirements of the ITAR and/or the EAR, applicants must qualify as a U.S. person under the ITAR and the EAR, or a person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction
