Telecommunications Specialist, SLD 30 SC

Responsibilities

Organizing and directing the daily activities of the organization
Ensuring our work complies with all requirements while meeting customer needs
Supporting the installation and sustainment of all base ICT systems
Reviewing service requests
Preparing cost estimates
Resolving technical problems to keep our infrastructure running smoothly
Serving as a liaison between contractors, vendors, and government officials
Helping develop the methods, policies, and long-range plans for our ICT systems
Adhering to security policies like OPSEC and COMSEC
Developing communication contingency plans
Conducting traffic analysis
Documenting all maintenance actions
Providing technical assistance, guidance, and training for Information and Communication and Technology systems and infrastructure to a variety of user and customers

Required

Must be a U.S Citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Safeguards classified or sensitive budget-related information and/or files
May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis
Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed 'Unscheduled Telework'
This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first
Employee may be required to perform travel by military or commercial passenger aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments
PCS / Relocation funding is not authorized
This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program
May be appointed to perform other administrative/additional duties as directed by the Supervisor
This position may be a cybersecurity position and the employee will need to attain appropriate DoD approved cybersecurity baseline certificate(s) applicable for cybersecurity functions required for the DoD position held, within six months of filling position IAW DoD 8570.01-M
Physical Required: Condition of employment. Requirement reason: (Due to heavy lifting, climbing ladders, under floors/desks/crawl spaces, stooping, kneeling, hearing and eyesight)
Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): 15 days a year
Will be required to maintain a current drivers license to operate government vehicles
