Responsibilities
Work under the direction of the Mill Superintendent to accomplish plant objectives in the priority areas of Safety, Environmental, Quality, Reliability, Production, Efficiency, Cost Reduction, and Innovation
Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in process engineering, mentoring and reviewing work from junior engineers as needed
Participate in or lead Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPs), What-If analyses, and other safety/process reviews, supporting the Process Safety Management (PSM) Management of Change (MOC) process
Contribute to Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFA) and incident investigations; complete assigned action items on schedule
Provide accurate, thorough design input and review for projects, ensuring close coordination with area personnel
Identify, evaluate, and implement opportunities for production, reliability, efficiency, and cost improvements
Research and apply industry technology advancements and lessons learned from Nutrien and other industry facilities
Qualification
Required
BS in Process Chemical, Mining Engineering, or related field (required)
Minimum of 3 years in the mining or chemical process industry, required
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills; experience using financial/cost data for operational decisions
Proficient in Microsoft Office and engineering software; process modeling experience a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proven ability to mentor, collaborate cross-functionally, and resolve conflicts
Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Phosphate fertilizer experience preferred
