Ensure the therapeutic needs of our participants are met
Contribute to development of individualized care plans
Oversee incorporation of student engagement
Support research initiatives related to therapeutic programming
Qualification
Required
A master's degree from an accredited institution in recreational therapy, occupational therapy, or a related field such as art, music, or physical education is required
At least one year of relevant experience in a healthcare or therapeutic setting (acute care hospital, rehabilitation facility, nursing home, etc.), or completion of a prescribed internship program in therapeutic practices is required
Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to supervise and mentor staff and students
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
Passion for working with older adults and a commitment to enhancing their quality of life through therapeutic programming
Ability to integrate research findings into practical service delivery and training
Preferred
Certification as a Recreation Therapist is highly preferred
Knowledge of community-based health and human services is preferred
