12+ years expExecutive Search Placement is currently working with a high-growth, technology-enabled Start-up in search of an experienced Controller/CPA to serve as the organization’s senior accounting leader during a critical scale and hyper-growth period. This role owns accounting policy, financial reporting, audit leadership, and internal controls, and will play a central role in building a public-company-ready finance function within a fast-paced, capital-intensive environment.

Responsibilities
Own U.S. GAAP accounting policy, financial reporting, and audit leadership in a high-growth environment
Responsible for building a strong accounting framework designed to scale and evolve in step with a rapidly growing, high-velocity business
Deep knowledge and experience with ASC 842 & ASC 606
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including complex journal entries, estimates, and reserves
Oversee fixed assets, capital expenditures, and accounting for large-scale infrastructure investments
Design, implement, and maintain SOX-compliant internal controls and internal audit frameworks
Support IPO readiness activities, including PCAOB audits, public-company reporting, and external stakeholders
Qualification
Required
CPA required with 12+ years of progressive accounting experience
Proven experience in startup and high-growth environments
Demonstrated IPO experience (pre-IPO or IPO readiness) and public accounting / reporting background
Deep experience with fixed assets, capital expenditures, and complex accounting areas
Strong knowledge of SOX compliance and internal control frameworks
Preferred
AI, technology, infrastructure, or capital-intensive experience preferred
