Responsibilities
Performs minor mechanical repairs on facility equipment, including replacing hydraulic hoses and assisting with routine maintenance on navigational lock systems
Maintains and repairs a wide range of motorized equipment, conducting tune-ups, diagnosing mechanical issues, and replacing or adjusting worn or damaged components such as carburetors, generators, alternators, starters, pumps, and brake systems. Performs limited disassembly of major components (engines, transmissions, final drives) to assess damage and determine necessary repairs
Conducts general building and facility maintenance, including repairs to interior and exterior structures, furniture, fixtures, and HVAC systems. Performs work across multiple trades—plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and related mechanical fields—to ensure safe and efficient facility operations
Qualification
Required
Two years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance
Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering
Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses
