Research Scientist / Electric System Control Engineer

Tokyo Electron US is seeking a Research Scientist / Electric System Control Engineer to develop control methods for R&D systems and plasma reactors. The role involves programming, installation, modification, and maintenance of advanced plasma lab systems, as well as conducting experiments and analyzing data.

Responsibilities

Developing control methods for R&D systems and plasma reactors
Responsible for the advanced plasma lab system control programing, installation, modification, upgrade and maintenance to enable functions of experimental devices, instruments, and equipment
System/instrument interfacing and control using NI Labview, Matlab, C/C++ and other program language for data acquisition, vacuum, plasma, and measurement system control
Establishes programs and solutions for challenging plasma and surface diagnostics
Design circuits and lab hardware for advanced test automation
Run plasma and surface experiments, collect and analyze data, create experiment reports and present results
Assist in the mechanical and electrical assembly of prototype systems
Interface with other engineers as well as supplier to have parts ordered, machined, assembled, tested
Participate in brainstorming activity to conceptualize inventive solutions to plasma and surface challenges
Participate in general laboratory support activities such as stocking of parts, repairing systems, troubleshooting, modification, and organizing lab

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Physic, Surface Science, Chemical Engineering
Experience of different IO (USB, RS232, Ethernet, GPIB, etc) and PLC control
Experience in Lab equipment such as oscilloscope, signal and function generator, RF generator and amplifier, power and VI sensor, vacuum pump control, etc
Proven ability to work in team environment with verbal/informal instructions

Preferred

Experience in NI LabView and test stand (PXIe, DAQ), preferably Actor Framework
Knowledge in vacuum systems such as dry pump, turbo pump, valve, pressure gauge/switch, flow control
Electrical Engineering background and experienced is preferred
