Responsibilities

Have an understanding of systems acquisition, systems and subsystems level hardware and software integration, systems requirements analysis and allocation, computer systems architecture, and systems and subsystems testing and evaluation
Review, develop, and update applicable program documentation for engineering relevant requirements
Have an understanding of aeronautical vehicle systems and/or airborne or related ground systems avionics to support the core engineering tasks as they relate to sustaining engineering
Perform duties in research, development, testing, evaluation, operation, and maintenance of electrical devices/systems
Systematically apply expertise in electronics engineering to create new or substantially improved equipment, materials, or procedures; apply engineering theories, new applications, or developments to improve operations and/or resolve unique or complex problems or issues
Serve as the technical expert for the organization and provide advice and assistance to organizational leadership on problems, issues, and projects for assigned programs
Develop and review the overall system electrical/electronic design baseline's architecture and interoperability requirements
Assist in translating user requirements into system requirements, which are used to design, develop, test, and evaluate software, electrical and electronics for systems, subsystems, and equipment
Provide systems/subsystems integration support for the acquisition, development, sustainment and verification of systems, software, and equipment; demonstrate familiarity with USAF engineering processes and V diagram
Evaluate system test plans and participate in the conduct of system, subsystem, and component testing
Demonstrate experience with USAF technical orders and depot and field activity engineering support
Provide electronics engineering support during root cause analyses for assigned programs and demonstrate familiarity with the USAF eight step process
Read and generate necessary changes to electrical and electronic drawings and occasionally mechanical drawings
Demonstrate familiarity with computer aided design software for mechanical and electrical systems and model-based design concepts

Required

15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field
Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline from an ABET accredited post-secondary education source or a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science
Must have 12 months or more experience in a SAP environment within the last five years
Familiar with basics of electrical and electronic circuits, Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) standard communication circuits, radar, electro-mechanical interface design, software control of electronic circuits, analog to digital and digital to analog interfaces, electromagnetic interference, electromagnetic compatibility, circuit analysis, and safety of flight requirements in electrical and electronic circuitry
TS/SCI clearance is required to start

Preferred

Interpret department and center digital transformation strategies and develop implementation plans for assigned programs or portfolios
Assist in translating user requirements into system requirements, which will be used to design, develop, fabricate, test, and evaluate systems, subsystems, and equipment for deployment
Assist with the development of requirements and technology needs into action plans and policies necessary to improve and retain world class manufacturing, operations, re-manufacturing, and de-militarization of weapon system capabilities
Perform technical/mission analyses of existing and potential operational requirements, assist in developing system, and subsystem concepts and perform technological/trade-off study assessments of proposed designs
Develop and review the overall system design baseline (architecture and interoperability requirements)
Review and analyze proposals, including regulatory and other policy driver changes or proposed modifications for design feasibility and system compatibility
Support and conduct engineering performance, effectiveness, cost effectiveness, cost performance, lifecycle cost, producibility, maintainability, supportability, reliability, technical, and schedule risk assessment and scheduling trade-off studies
Support and conduct systems analyses to include, but not limited to, system design/design feasibility and state-of-the-art assessment
