Responsibilities

Lead the design of power electronic circuits and hardware assemblies for applications such as motor drives, power converters, inverters, and power distribution units
Provide technical leadership on projects, including planning, risk identification, and mitigation for hardware deliverables
Mentor junior engineers in best practices for power electronics design, analysis, test, and documentation
Design, test, and troubleshoot analog and digital electronics circuits
Analog circuits designs include analog filters, transistor and op-amp circuits, interface circuits, signal conditioning, AD and DA converters, Power supplies
Digital circuits designs include micro controllers, FPGA, communication interface circuits, logic families and digital memory
Switching and linear power supplies design at the component level
Design and specify magnetic components (inductors and transformers) for analog circuits
Create EMI compliant designs and follow EMC best practices as they apply to analog and digital designs
Provide guidance for the layout of PCBs; define power planes, critical circuits, and circuit boards
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Have working knowledge of Digital Signal Processing principals and embedded software
Experience with system integration and proof of concept prototype design
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Use simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent) to predict performance, losses, and dynamic behavior
Work with lab equipment and methods for power electronics testing

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or related field from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 15 years of experience of relevant electrical design experience)
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in electrical hardware design
This position requires U.S. citizenship status
Hybrid work schedule (must reside locally; no fully remote option)

Preferred

Advanced degree
Experience in Aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industries
Power electronics experience
Strong oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
Significant hands-on experience in power electronics hardware design for converters, inverters, motor drives, or power supplies
Experience with lab equipment and methods for power electronics testing (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, electronic loads, etc.)
Strong proficiency in: Power stage design (DC-DC, AC-DC, DC-AC, AC-AC)
Analog and mixed-signal circuit design
PCB design principles for high current, high voltage, and EMI/EMC performance
