They are seeking an Electrical Engineering Technician / Drafter to support engineering teams by performing technical tasks and utilizing digital tools to create and maintain technical documentation and drawings.

Responsibilities
Under general supervision, supports engineering teams by performing technical tasks that require an intermediate understanding of engineering principles and practices
Utilizes digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables
May begin to provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineering technicians
Create and develop deliverables based on a variety of design inputs
May perform basic computations such as material quantity estimates and dimensional checks
Assist in coordinating deliverables with other groups involved on the same project to minimize interference or errors
Focuses on the needs of internal clients while gaining basic understanding of external client's main interests and drivers
Qualification
Required
Intermediate understanding of engineering principles and practices
2-3 years drafting experience for electrical projects
Experience with substation (schematics, wiring, site layouts)
2-3 years experience with Autodesk AutoCad
Ability to utilize digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables
Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineering technicians
Willingness to learn and remain current on standards, systems, document control, departmental guides and B&V policies and procedures
Ability to apply knowledge of the B&V Quality Program to ensure that the deliverables are accurate and compliant
Demonstrates personal accuracy and supports continuous improvement and change management efforts
Ability to create and develop deliverables based on a variety of design inputs
Ability to perform basic computations such as material quantity estimates and dimensional checks
Ability to assist in coordinating deliverables with other groups involved on the same project to minimize interference or errors
Focus on the needs of internal clients while gaining basic understanding of external client's main interests and drivers
Must be in a commutable distance to the Chattanooga office
Preferred
Experience with Microstation
