Responsibilities
Handle microbiological cultures (bacteria and yeast) using proper safety and aseptic techniques
Identify mixed cultures and escalate issues to appropriate personnel
Fulfill culturing requests from the Industrialization team
Support projects with routine lab tasks (e.g., opening card pouches, labeling cards)
Perform microbial testing using the VITEK 2 instrument
Generate, review, and communicate VITEK 2 results or issues to senior staff
Monitor instrumentation to ensure proper function
Maintain accurate internal documentation following SOPs and GDP standards
Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
Maintain a safe lab environment and wear PPE appropriately for most of the day
Contribute to continuous process improvements
Participate in team-based lab upkeep
Coordinate and prioritize daily work independently
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required (life sciences/biology/molecular biology/biochemistry or related field)
Minimum 2 years' experience working in a lab environment, graduate work would be considered
Familiarity with lab safety, GLP, GDP, and standard lab equipment
Ability to learn and perform new lab techniques
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Good computer proficiency (Word, Outlook; solid Excel skills)
Preferred
Understanding of aseptic technique; experience working with microorganisms preferred
