Application Developer II
Neuberger Berman is seeking an Application Developer to help build and enhance critical Private Markets research applications. This role involves designing, developing, and deploying scalable applications while collaborating with investment professionals and technology stakeholders to improve research efficiency and data quality.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and deploy robust, scalable applications using modern tools and frameworks
Produce maintainable, well-documented code aligned with engineering best practices
Partner with the Application Service Delivery team to support delivery execution and ongoing service management
Drive adoption and integration of the Everest platform for new and existing teams, ensuring smooth onboarding and operational continuity
Coordinate with business and technology partners to manage dependencies, impacts, and readiness for rollout
Design and optimize SQL solutions to improve data flows, query performance, and reporting for investment professionals
Build and maintain ETL pipelines to support accurate, timely, and high-quality data movement across platforms
Follow best practices for database security, reliability, and performance tuning
Work directly with investment teams to understand workflows, identify pain points, and deliver technological solutions that enhance user experience and outcomes
Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical partners
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) or equivalent practical experience
3-4 years of relevant experience in application development with hands-on SQL and either Python or .NET
Working knowledge of ETL concepts (data movement, validation, scheduling, and monitoring)
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, delivery-oriented mindset
Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Experience with Tableau or similar BI/data visualization tools
Exposure to Agile/Scrum delivery practices
Familiarity with DevOps tooling and CI/CD concepts (e.g., Git, Jenkins, or similar)
Exposure to cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, or GCP
Prior experience within Financial Services is highly preferred
