I & E Technician

Clean Harbors is searching for a reliable and safely oriented Instrumentation and Electrical Maintenance Technician (I & E) to join their Sanford, NC team. The role involves performing hands-on instrument checks, calibrations, and PLC Logic programming, along with diagnosing issues with control circuitry and assisting the maintenance departments with various tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

Ensures that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
Troubleshoots instrument and control malfunctions
Performs preventative maintenance checks and calibrations
Maintains accurate records and logs as required
Installs new system controls (including power wiring)
Installs cabling, power distribution systems, and motor control centers
Services and replaces motors and lighting
Exposure to multi-disciplinary maintenance tasks preferred
Familiar with electrical work in a classified/hazardous areas
Other duties as assigned

Required

HS Diploma or equivalent preferred
PLC troubleshooting experience
Experience reading blueprints, schematics and P&ID's
Knowledge of Data Control Systems (DCS)
Experience with 480v and below
Must be willing to jump in and assist maintenance and other teams when needed
Mechanically inclined is an asset
Lift up 50lb, working at heights, confined/tight spaces, stooping, bending, standing for long periods of time
Must be able to work in all weather conditions

Preferred

6+ years electrical experience preferred
3+ years of instrumentation preferred
VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) troubleshooting and programming experience preferred
Exposure to multi-disciplinary maintenance tasks preferred
Familiar with electrical work in a classified/hazardous areas
