The role involves assisting R&D engineers and scientists in the development and analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment, including test method development and validation, troubleshooting, and training others on new product processes.

Responsibilities
Assemble prototypes/products per design plan
Troubleshoot and suggest creative solutions to process and design issues
Test prototypes per engineering instructions and document test results
Use internal and qualified vendors to assist engineering teams to obtain supplies and services
Communicate assignment status to project engineers
Perform basic statistical analysis of results
Train others on new product processes and procedures
Support calibration and maintenance programs for R&D Test Equipment
Qualification
Required
HS diploma/GED required
AA Degree or equivalent work experience in related discipline and 1+ year of related experience
Instruments that will be used ---and preferred experience
Instron Universal Test Systems - Tensile and Compression
Force Gauges
Torque Gauges
Pressure Testing Equipment (Meters/Transducers)
Torsion Testing
Laser Fiber Testing - Power Efficiency, Beam Profiling
Multimeters
