Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain EMS applications across Windows and Linux platforms
Support core EMS functions including Power Flow, State Estimation, Contingency Analysis, SCADA, ICCP, DTS, Load Forecasting, and Network Model Management
Translate grid operations and market requirements into scalable technical solutions
Develop backend database solutions using Oracle PL/SQL and support CIM/XML-based data modeling
Build and maintain UI components (GE EMS FGbuilder, Siemens WebSDK)
Deploy, integrate, and test vendor EMS software releases
Provide Level 2 production support for mission-critical grid systems (24x7 as needed)
Troubleshoot application, database, and system issues; perform root cause analysis
Automate build and deployment processes using CI/CD tools
Support EMS migrations, upgrades, and CIM-based integrations
Collaborate with Grid Operations, Network Modeling, and Production Support teams
Lead design reviews and architectural enhancements
Conduct code reviews and approve technical changes
Automate unit and regression testing
Own full SDLC lifecycle delivery
Deliver technical presentations and training
Qualification
Required
3+ years relevant experience for Level 3 or 5+ years relevant experience for Senior
Experience with commercial EMS/MMS platforms (ABB/Hitachi, GE, Siemens, OSI, Nexant, etc.)
Power industry experience within utilities, ISOs, or grid software vendors
Strong programming experience in C/C++, FORTRAN, Java, Python, Perl, PL/SQL
Experience with Oracle or SQL Server databases
Familiarity with CIM/XML modeling, optimization solvers (CPLEX, Gurobi), and messaging systems (Tibco JMS, AMQ)
Experience with Git, CI/CD tools, JBoss/Tomcat, Windows/Linux environments
Solid understanding of power system operations (power flow, economic dispatch, unit commitment, market operations)
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
