SR Financial Reporting Analyst

Seaboard Overseas and Trading Group (SOTG) is a globally integrated leader in agricultural commodity trading, processing, and logistics. The SR Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for reviewing financial statements for compliance with US GAAP, preparing month-end close binders, and coordinating accounting issues with international affiliates.

Responsibilities

Review of multiple domestic and international affiliate financial statements for compliance with US GAAP on a monthly/quarterly basis
Prepare electronic month-end close binders
Participate in month-end group close process and tie out of financial statements
Coordinate accounting issues with overseas financial staff, other Seaboard departments, and investment partners
Prepare group MD&A and other quarterly schedules
Complete ad-hoc reporting and analysis as necessary
Complete SOX internal control compliance
Prepare year-end audit support schedules
Manage the financial accounting filing system
Prepare weekly cash flow forecast
Travel to international affiliate locations and perform site reviews

Required

2+ years job-related experience, working for a Big 4 accounting firm
Bachelor's degree, Accounting required
US CPA Required
Proficient in MS Office with advanced skills in Excel
Experience with reporting financials in accordance with US GAAP
Must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and interact with overseas affiliate location management and division executive management
Excellent verbal/written communication skills, especially as it relates to presenting technical accounting concepts with the ability to clearly and confidently communicate issues and any necessary changes with affiliate financial statements
Ability to effectively lead affiliates through the process of identifying and resolving issues with their monthly financial statements in a timely manner
High attention to detail and deadline-oriented
Highly organized with the ability to keep track of accounting issues and follow-up for numerous financial statements on a monthly/quarterly basis
Must be able to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally

Preferred

Master's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred
Experience with PeopleSoft Financials is a plus
Basic knowledge of one or more languages is a plus (French, Spanish)
