CBS Sports is a leader in cross-platform sports coverage, and they are seeking a Sr. Editor to manage the daily editorial operations of the 247Sports college team site network. The role involves overseeing content operations, optimizing workflows, and supporting subscription growth through strategic editorial planning.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily content operations across platforms
Maximize editorial opportunities and to ensure insightful and impactful coverage
Monitor content production across the network - including both free and premium
Share and assign top-performing content weekly across free and VIP categories
Ensure effective content distribution across all available platforms
Manage team site news alerts and notifications with a focus on quality control
Assist with social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok keeping an eye on content frequency and monetization
Help drive subscription promotions and marketing campaigns, collaborating with writers on subscription promotions, upgrade campaigns, and retention initiatives
Support cross platform content marketing and promotion content creation
Provide consistent site training in all aspects of team site responsibilities
Monitor referral traffic at the site and network level, identifying positive and negative trends
Share CBS Sports editorial content and research notes with site staff and message board communities
Drive quality control and appropriate moderation of message board communities, while developing strategies to grow collaboration
Oversee quality control of team site structured data pages including commits, targets, etc
Ensure 247Sports is producing innovative, high quality team focused content across all platforms that drives subscriptions and audience interaction
Collaborate across teams and brands to maximize coverage and distribution that reaches the casual to invested fan

Required

5+ years experience in editorial operations within the sports industry
Proven ability to manage multiple platforms including websites, social media, podcasts, and video channels from an editorial and operational lens
Experience in subscription marketing, SEO, and community moderation

Preferred

Demonstrated ability to apply strong editorial judgment to prioritize coverage, evaluate content quality, and maintain consistency across high‑volume, multi‑platform workflows
Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends and optimize performance
Top-notch communication and management skills
