BL Companies Inc is growing and is seeking a Plumbing Engineer to join their Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) group. This role is responsible for the engineering design, analysis, and coordination of plumbing systems for various building types, ensuring efficient and code-compliant solutions.

Responsibilities

Design plumbing systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial projects, including domestic water, sanitary, stormwater, and specialty systems

Develop and review construction documents, specifications, and detailed engineering drawings

Ensure designs comply with building codes, standards, and sustainable design principles

Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve design and construction challenges

Collaborate with a team of engineers and designers, sharing best practices in plumbing system design and engineering principles

Contribute to the development of firmwide plumbing design standards, workflows, and technical guidelines

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Plumbing Engineering (or related field) or a minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience

3+ years of experience with commercial or industrial design in Revit; residential experience is a plus

CPD certification (or in progress)

Proven experience designing plumbing systems in a professional engineering setting

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Excel

Strong understanding of plumbing codes, standards, and industry best practices

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Ability to support multidisciplinary teams

Preferred

Fire Protection experience is a plus
