Information Technology (IT) Specialist (PALACE Acquire Intern))
The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking a full-time Information Technology (IT) Specialist as part of the PALACE Acquire (PAQ) Intern program. In this role, you will assist in collecting, compiling, and analyzing program data, while also supporting higher graded specialists in IT systems projects and evaluations.

Responsibilities
Carry out specific, routine tasks to assist in collecting, compiling, and analyzing a variety of program data used to identify requirements for software and hardware
Assist higher graded specialists in developing portions of IT systems support projects or studies
Assist in evaluating specific portions of plans or operations to identify needed changes or adjustment
Qualification
Required
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions
Knowledge of IT principles, techniques, requirements, methods and practices to participate in a variety of routine IT specialist assignments
Knowledge of the principles, policies, and practices of acquisition and program management to assist in the planning, organizing and management of software and hardware systems acquisition
Knowledge to perform routine and recurring assignments in the maintenance of portions of IT system capabilities which support the operation, planning, management, analysis and decision-making functions of the customer
Analytical and evaluation skills to identity and resolve routine issues and problems with IT programs and/or equipment in meeting customer or project requirements
Oral and written communication skills for effective working relationships, interaction with customers, and presentation of findings and proposals
Geographic mobility is a condition of employment. The employee must sign an Air Force-wide mobility agreement
Cyberspace Qualification is a condition of employment. This position includes Cyberspace work as a paramount duty requirement. Per Department of Defense Manual (DoDM) 8140.03, para 4.2.a.(2)., requires foundational qualification requirements within 9 months of assignment to a cyberspace work role and resident qualification requirements within 12 months of assignment to a cyberspace work role. A waiver of these requirements may be granted per DoDM 8140.03. Failure to achieve and maintain the proper Cyberspace Qualification may result in removal from this position
