CADD Designer

Responsibilities
Utilize OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and Civil 3D—including alignments, profiles, corridors, surfaces, grading tools, and sheet production workflows—to develop accurate, engineered construction plans and plan sets
Prepare a variety of civil design deliverables such as plans, exhibits, maps, 2D/3D models, and quantity estimates, ensuring consistency with project and client standards
Collaborate closely with civil engineers and project leaders to translate design concepts into detailed, constructible models and drawings
Apply strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills to support drainage, roadway, utility, and site design tasks across diverse infrastructure projects
Follow internal QA/QC workflows, client CADD standards, and established project procedures to maintain high-quality, consistent deliverables
Manage assigned tasks within budgeted hours and project schedules, communicating progress and providing updates, including preparing meeting minutes when required
Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, taking direction effectively and contributing to a positive, coordinated project environment
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills across design teams, project managers, and stakeholders
Show a strong desire to learn and grow in civil engineering design practices, software capabilities, and industry standards
Leverage GIS skills—when applicable—to integrate spatial datasets, improve base mapping accuracy, support environmental or planning coordination, and enhance overall project data quality
Qualification
Required
Proficient in MicroStation OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil3D
Ability to deliver accurate, efficient, and high-quality civil design and plan production
Ability to transform engineering concepts into detailed 2D and 3D models
Ability to support seamless coordination across multidisciplinary, mixed-platform project teams
Ability to adapt to local government, TxDOT, and consultant workflows
Ability to contribute to complex drainage designs
