2026 Summer Intern - GM Energy Operations
General Motors is seeking the next generation of innovators for their GM Energy team. As an intern, you will work with Senior Leadership to design and implement AI-driven solutions that optimize operational processes and enhance stakeholder experience.

Responsibilities
Design, pilot, and implement AI-driven solutions to automate and optimize operational processes, reducing inefficiencies and manual effort
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to integrate AI and automation tools into existing systems, ensuring seamless adoption and measurable impact
Continuously evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend innovative approaches to further streamline operations and enhance stakeholder experience
Work with the Program Management Services and Software team to assist in automating reports and summaries about current and future initiatives such as ESS Leasing to take advantage of 30% tax incentives and Grid Services pilots using our electric vehicles to support the grid and our homes
Create a process and scorecard utilizing software tools to summarize status, dates and owners for Leadership that is easy to understand and communicate visually from existing Program Management tools
Work with the Public Charging Infrastructure team to refine processes and metrics benchmarking other EV makers and standardize amongst Charge Service Operators
Qualification
Required
Pursuit of a bachelor's or master's degree one of the following areas: AI/ML, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related degree
Must be graduating between May 2027 - June 2028
Able to work full time, 40 hours per week during the summer months
Preferred
Strong computer software skills, especially AI, Microsoft Office, including MS Project, Jira, Jira Align, & Power BI
Electric vehicle, battery storage, solar power, hydrogen, charging infrastructure, sustainability, and/or utility knowledge
Project management skills with proven track record of efficiently completing work
Creative and innovative mindset with a steadfast focus on continuous improvement
Demonstrate high level of interpersonal skills required to effectively collaborate, motivate, and facilitate others in group situations
