Financial Accounting Manager
Shaw Construction is a world-class construction company that emphasizes a supportive and diverse work environment. The Financial Accounting Manager will support the Controller with financial reporting, audits, and various accounting projects.
Real Estate
Responsibilities
Prepare monthly consolidated and subsidiary financial statements and supplemental schedules
Record elimination journal entries and perform consolidations
Prepare year-end audit workpapers and reports
Provide ad hoc analysis as needed
Coordinate monthly close activities and ensure timely completion of deliverables across the Accounting department
Review general ledger reports for proper coding and cutoff
Prepare and post journal entries
Prepare intercompany bills and reconcile intercompany accounts
Perform monthly reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts, including cash, marketable securities, capital leases, prepaids, property and equipment, inventory, and accrued liabilities
Perform monthly lumber inventory counts
Review journal entries and reconciliations and provide feedback to preparer
Support the Company’s equipment program
Assist with accounting process improvements and documentation of accounting policies and procedures
Assist in preparation for annual financial statement audits and insurance audits
Other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
1+ years of management experience
8 years of progressive accounting experience
Solid grasp of fundamental accounting principles
Excellent problem solving, organizational, analytical, and communication skills; Ability to lead within a team
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and professional demeanor
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment
Ability to adapt to changing business requirements
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Preferred
Construction, Homebuilding or similar industry experience
Public Accounting experience
Supervisory experience
Familiarity with Vista by Viewpoint, Prophix, Microsoft Office and Windows, CCH Workpaper Manager, Crystal Reports
Knowledge of Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah sales & use tax regulations
