Qualification Engineer
System One is seeking a highly skilled Qualification Engineer to support a nuclear technology client in Oak Ridge, TN. This role is essential to ensuring the safety and non-safety related integrity, performance, and regulatory compliance of components and systems procured for nuclear applications.

Responsibilities
Develop, author, and execute CGD and EQ plans in accordance with nuclear industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations
Support Safety Related (QL1) procurements by validating material, equipment, and service compliance with technical and quality requirements
Lead procurement engineering activities including sourcing, technical evaluations, supplier qualification, and coordination with vendors or test facilities
Design, fabricate, and implement test setups to support CGD, EQ, seismic, and environmental qualification testing
Develop detailed test plans and conduct specialized testing, including triaxial seismic testing and environmental qualification testing
Perform troubleshooting, failure analysis, and repair activities related to electronic instrumentation and control (I&C) systems
Coordinate and oversee third-party inspections and off-site testing activities
Prepare, review, and approve procurement and testing documentation in compliance with NRC, DOE, NQA-1, EPRI , and internal quality program requirements
Ensure complete documentation, traceability, and technical rigor across all CGD, EQ, and procurement engineering deliverables
Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and operations teams to maintain technical accuracy and regulatory compliance
Support continuous improvement efforts including workflow optimization, process enhancements, and reverse engineering when needed
Qualification
Required
Associate degree in Engineering, Science, or a technical field; or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science (or equivalent relevant experience)
Experience in nuclear, facility, quality, or industrial engineering environments
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, technical specs, and operating manuals
Strong technical writing skills, with experience developing test plans, procedures, and inspection/test reports
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
Strong communication, coordination, and collaboration skills
Preferred
5+ years of experience in the nuclear industry or supporting nuclear suppliers
Hands-on experience with Commercial Grade Dedication (EPRI NP-5652) and Equipment Qualification processes
Familiarity with NRC, DOE, and NQA-1 regulatory and quality requirements
Working knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, including I&C components
Experience with test and inspection tools such as DMMs, Hi-Pot testers, oscilloscopes, and function generators
Experience with OES, XRF, FTIR, or similar analytical equipment
