Responsibilities

Design, implementation, and validation of model predictive propulsion control systems from concept through engine test and entry into service
Develop real-time engine health parameter estimation algorithms
Multivariable frequency domain analysis
Planning and execution of control system verification and validation
Collaborate with embedded software team to implement and verify the model predictive control and estimation software
Participate in root cause determination and corrective actions related to engine test and field issues
Rapid development of control algorithm software solutions to emerging hardware issues
Participate in enhancing workflow standards for developing model predictive control and parameter estimation systems

Required

Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
2 years engineering experience or an advanced degree
U.S. Citizen - The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred

M.S. degree
Industrial or academic experience demonstrating interest in feedback control system design and frequency domain analysis
Experience developing physics-based models of turbo-machinery components by applying principles and methods from thermodynamics, aerodynamics, and heat transfer and integrating component models into an overall engine model
Experience designing and analyzing estimation algorithms by applying methods and tools from multi-input multi-output dynamical linear system and estimation theories
Experience with statistical models and methods for modeling various uncertainty types and for processing simulation results and data
Experience with implementation and simulation of models and estimators in engineering computational environments such as Matlab/Simulink
Experience in physics-based modeling of gas turbine engines
Experience developing physics-based dynamic models for system analysis and design
Successful application of analytical skills to solve complex engineering problems
Solid track record of achieving results
Outstanding cross discipline communication skills
