Responsibilities
Build models and queries to transform data into standardized formats that power our business analytics
Maintain and develop Alma’s data pipeline architecture
Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve data quality, reliability, and performance issues across the data lifecycle
Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and implement robust processes for ingesting data from diverse internal and external sources
Implement data governance best practices and ensure compliance with data policies
Work with the data team and cross-team stakeholders to evaluate the priorities and needs of the company
Qualification
Required
3+ years of progressive experience in data engineering or analytics engineering, with a strong emphasis on building and optimizing data pipelines and data warehouses
Advanced SQL skills, with proven experience in writing complex, performant queries and optimizing them in a data warehouse environment like Redshift
Strong understanding of data warehousing and business intelligence tools
Experience with dbt is highly desirable; familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Looker, Metabase) is a plus
Enjoy exploring data sets and have technical expertise in data transformation and data modeling
Some experience with Python
