Responsibilities

Design, review, validate, and advise on security requirements for complex healthcare systems
Identify gaps across platforms, applications, and infrastructure
Translate healthcare regulatory expectations into concrete technical requirements
Identify overlapping security capabilities and drive consolidation opportunities
Contribute to future reference architectures
Collaborate closely with engineering teams, platform teams, cloud architects, delivery organizations, and governance groups to ensure compliance with Corporate Security standards

Required

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
Eight to ten years of experience in security architecture or security engineering with significant exposure to enterprise systems
Hands on experience in at least four distinct security domains such as identity, network security, cloud security, encryption, data protection, logging and monitoring, or endpoint security
Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance requirements including HIPAA, HITECH, HITRUST, SOC, and NIST
Experience reviewing architectures and identifying risk, security gaps, and compensating controls
Ability to quickly research new topics, gather evidence, and prepare clear technical recommendations
Familiarity with creating structured processes for the review of security designs, including documenting risks and validating compliance
Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders
Proven ability to identify appropriate security controls that address risk while supporting business requirements
Capability to create reference architectures to strengthen future design work
Ability to author, interpret, and discuss security standards in an authoritative and practical manner
Experience mentoring engineers and analysts in core security design concepts
Ability to develop and maintain security architecture artifacts such as models, templates, standards, and procedures
Experience creating baseline security configurations for operating systems, cloud workloads, and identity architectures
Prior experience advising on application and infrastructure projects and providing security planning guidance
Strong understanding of modern security frameworks such as NIST and ISO 27001 along with healthcare specific expectations
Knowledge of technologies such as firewalls, VPN, data loss prevention, intrusion detection and prevention, web security tools, and cloud native controls
Understanding of web applications, API architectures, container platforms, and cloud networking
A collaborative working style and the ability to communicate well with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to simplify complex technical risks for business leaders
Strong willingness to learn, remain curious, and apply critical thinking to complex design challenges

Preferred

A master's degree is beneficial
Certifications such as TOGAF, CISSP, CCSP, CISM, TOGAF, or SC 900 are preferred
