Responsibilities

Define and bootstrap a new, greenfield APP 2.0 Android app on a modern stack

Design and oversee a robust offline‑first and sync architecture for field operations on rugged devices

Lead the phased migration of core APP workflows from the legacy app to APP 2.0

Partner with backend, enterprise architecture, product, and operations to ensure APP 2.0 is scalable, observable, and operable in production

Set the technical direction, make key architecture decisions, and guide internal teams

Required

10+ years in Android development, with multiple years as an architect / principal / lead on complex, production apps

Proven experience with: Kotlin, MVVM/MVI, Clean Architecture, DI (Hilt/Dagger/Koin)

Room or equivalent DB, Work Manager or equivalent background scheduling

Multi‑module Android projects at scale

Strong track record in: Offline‑first, field‑operations, or logistics/driver apps (routing, delivery, fleet, workforce, etc.)

Designing and operating apps on rugged or constrained devices with poor/variable connectivity

Hands‑on experience integrating mobile apps with: Complex backend/enterprise systems (REST/GraphQL, ESB, auth, telemetry)

Demonstrated ability to: Define and execute multi‑phase modernization programs

Lead cross‑functional technical discussions and influence architecture across teams

Preferred

Mapping/navigation SDKs (HERE, Google Maps, etc.)

Telematics/IoT data in mobile

MDM solutions (Workspace ONE, Intune) and kiosk/lockdown modes

Prior work in: Multi‑language Android apps and localization at scale
