Responsibilities
Optimize, troubleshoot, and stabilize ex‑vivo sample‑processing workflows on the HighRes automation platform
Partner with cross‑functional scientists to streamline and scale sample‑processing methods
Develop, onboard, and validate automated methods on PE JANUS and Beckman liquid‑handling systems
Lead the transition of manual laboratory workflows onto robotic liquid‑handling platforms
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and system support for integrated HighRes automation systems
Serve as a technical liaison between external vendors, automation suppliers, and internal scientific teams
Train end‑users and provide ongoing support for existing robotic platforms
Contribute to the development, testing, and documentation of SOPs for automated systems
Qualification
Required
B.S. or M.S. in Bioengineering, Engineering, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline
5+ years of hands‑on experience operating and programming laboratory robotics platforms
Strong understanding of complex workflows involving liquid‑ and plate‑handling systems
Ability to identify sources of assay variability and apply statistical approaches to assess performance
Experience with automation platforms such as PerkinElmer, HighRes Cellario, and Beckman Coulter
Preferred
Experience with liquid‑handling robots such as Tecan or Hamilton
Familiarity with plate readers, lab instrumentation, and integrated automation systems
Programming or scripting experience (e.g., C#) for automation scripts, API integrations, or tool development
Experience working with LIMS or automation‑related software tools
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills for root‑cause analysis and troubleshooting
Ability to collaborate with scientists to convert manual assays into automated workflows
