Advanced Programs Senior Systems Engineering Architect

Responsibilities

Develop roadmap and execution plans for the definition, development, implementation and sustainment of a systems engineering framework that will be employed on emerging advanced development programs
Drive cross-domain integration across multiple engineering disciplines within a program and functional engineering capacity in order to meet technical objectives
Review and refine existing, and develop new corporate procedures for systems engineering
Develop technical and strategy-level briefings for internal and external stakeholder review
Identify, manage, and communicate technical risks and opportunities at the program level
Regular communication with Advanced Programs and ASI executive leadership
Provide regular technical mentorship to lower-level technical team members
Support the definition and decomposition of mission use cases that will inform system and segment requirements
Collaborate with Operations Analysis team to define technical performance
Support program objectives by ensuring technical performance, cost, schedule, and risk objectives align with defined mission architecture(s)
Support the development of program proposals
Promote a continued strong culture of systems thinking and engineering rigor
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company
Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices

Required

Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; 18 or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, 16 or more years of experience with a masters degree, or 13 or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education
Degree in aerospace/aeronautical, electrical, mechanical, or systems engineering is highly desirable
Experience in at least one of the following areas: Project Engineering, Operations Analysis, Modeling and Simulation, Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Mission Integration, or Model Based Systems Engineering
Experience leading an engineering team or project
Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment
Must have excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills. Must be able to distill complex engineering topics into concise presentation materials, and present effectively to customers, internal stakeholders, and senior leadership
Must have a current DoD Secret clearance and a periodic reinvestigation, or an original adjudication date completed within the last 5 years
Ability to obtain SAP access

Preferred

Must be customer focused and able to work on a self-initiated basis or in a team environment and able to work extended hours and travel as required
Comfortable in working with a team of subject matter experts
Able to lead less-experienced engineers
Familiarity with MBSE with CAMEO, DODAF 2.0
Familiarity with AFSIM Modeling and SIM
