Windows Systems Administrator/Junior Cybersecurity Consultant
Right Hand Technology Group is a cybersecurity-focused Managed Service Provider helping organizations strengthen their security posture and meet real-world compliance requirements. They are looking for an experienced engineer who wants to grow into a cybersecurity-focused role, blending technical execution with increasing responsibility in risk assessments, compliance validation, and advisory support.

Responsibilities
Participate in risk assessments, maturity reviews, and technical gap analyses
Review client environments against applicable compliance frameworks
Identify control deficiencies and help develop practical remediation plans
Validate that required technical and security controls are operating effectively over time
Work under senior security leadership to execute compliance-driven security programs for assigned clients
Assist in developing gap analysis reports and roadmap recommendations
Review client policies, procedures, and technical evidence against compliance requirements
Support audit preparation and compliance readiness initiatives
Implement and validate technical security controls such as MFA, EDR, logging, patching, backup validation, and firewall configurations
Serve as a strong technical resource when control gaps require remediation
Support roadmap initiatives tied to security and compliance goals
Support client discussions related to risk, maturity, and remediation progress
Help clients understand why controls matter — not just how they work
Gain exposure to long-term planning and advisory conversations
Document everything thoroughly in the PSA and documentation systems
Follow defined processes and continuously improve them
Complete assigned initiatives on time and within scope
Qualification
Required
5+ years of systems engineering experience
3+ years of MSP experience required
Strong working knowledge of Windows Server, networking, Microsoft 365, and cloud environments
Hands-on experience implementing security technologies such as MFA, EDR, firewalls, backup systems, and patch management
Working knowledge of compliance frameworks and regulatory environments
Strong written communication skills — documentation and report quality are critical
High attention to detail and structured thinking
Preferred
Security+, CCNA, or similar certifications
Experience participating in compliance assessments or audit preparation
Clear interest in long-term growth toward cybersecurity advisory or vCISO leadership
Bachelor's (Preferred)
Systems Administrator: 5 years (Preferred)
Firewall Management: 2 years (Preferred)
Willingness to travel: 25% (Preferred)
