JMSC-IP Systems Engineer (Help Desk)

Responsibilities

Troubleshoots complex, hardware, software and network issues
Performs software deployments, patching and updates
Participates in infrastructure upgrades and migrations
Supports the implementation, operation, and sustainment of system security protections for training and simulation systems
Performs hands on configuration, troubleshooting, documentation, and change support for network and boundary components in a controlled environment
Performs scheduled maintenance and systems upgrades
Supports audits, inspections, and vulnerability remediation activities
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
Participates in special projects as required

Required

Education: AS/AA in Information Technology or Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience
Required Experience: 3+ years of related experience; military and MTC experience preferred
Provides systems engineering support for the design, integration, operation, and sustainment of enterprise systems
Performs ongoing system maintenance and supports system upgrades and migrations
Resolve issues involving Active Directory, permissions, group policies
Strong understanding of RMF, boundary relevant STIGS, and cybersecurity compliance
Working knowledge of firewall rules, traffic filtering, and access control
Working knowledge of configuration and management of core switches, remote nodes, and diverse communications hardware within controlled environments
Certification: SEC+ is required; Network+ or CCNA will be considered
Security Clearance Level: MUST be able to obtain Interim / Secret Clearance within 6 months of hire
Must meet DoD 8570 IAM I certification
Superb communication skills
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to escalate appropriately
Must be able to perform with minimal guidance
Location: On Customer Site/moderate travel to other customer sites throughout Pacific AoR
Years of Experience: 3 + years of related experience; may vary based on technical training, certification(s), or degree
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required
