Responsibilities

Analyze proposed legislation, policies, and regulations to assess potential impacts on Guam, CNMI, and the United States, and provide recommendations for appropriate actions or changes
Monitor Capital Improvement Projects and grants supported by the Office of Insular Affairs
Evaluate ongoing policy and program issues and, when necessary, develop long-term strategies and programs to address identified problems
Serve as a liaison between the governments of Guam or CNMI, civil society, and the Office of Insular Affairs
Collaborate with other OIA representatives for matters related to Guam or CNMI
Maintain awareness of new developments and trends affecting Guam or CNMI and provide findings and recommendations to leadership

Required

You must be a U.S. Citizen
You will be subject to a background/suitability investigation/determination
You will be required to have federal payments made by Direct Deposit
You must submit ALL required documents and a completed questionnaire
Selective Service: If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, you must certify that you have registered with the Selective Service system, or are exempt from having to do so under the Selective Service Law
Experience needed: interpreting regulations to determine impacts on an organization
Experience needed: collecting and organizing data for dissemination to determine alignment with program objectives
Experience needed: collaborating with government and civic leaders on community priorities
You must submit confirmation of supervisory approval
You must be a current federal employee

Preferred

For this position, familiarity with the Chamorro language and culture is preferred but not required
