Desktop Support Specialist

They are seeking a Desktop Support Specialist to perform technical support duties on networked computer equipment, serve as the initial point of contact for help desk related duties, and manage user account administration among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities
Receive and respond to help desk calls from end users in a timely and efficient manner; troubleshoot user desktop PCs (virtual or physical) and peripheral networked equipment including printers to resolve hardware or software problems and get users back in service as quickly as possible
Set up and install hardware/software and configure environment for stable and reliable operation; follow through and ensure proper operation and function of desktop PCs and required software prior to final destination delivery; install software upgrades throughout the enterprise as needed or directed
Serve as point of contact for provisioning and deprovisioning of user accounts on multiple platforms
Perform administration related tasks for user permissions, directory groups and assist with data protection schemes including backups
Deploy and manage patches/fixes, upgrades, new software and PC/Laptop images
Be responsible for mobile device management and security
Administer, configure, and support the company’s phone system and its components
Help team administer server backups and restores
Perform set up of new hire hardware
Conduct orientation and training on all technical devices provided by the company for new hires
Write IT related program documentation, operating instructions and training materials for the company
In conjunction with the IT Manager, procure, receive, and document inventory of all computer equipment and software licenses
Work with IT team to ensure compliance regarding IT policies and procedures
Perform additional tasks, duties, and responsibilities as needed or assigned by leadership to support departmental and organizational objectives
Qualification
Required
Minimum of one year of IT Support related IT experience required
Minimum of one year of help desk related support experience required
Experience and strong working knowledge of all recent versions of Microsoft Windows OS along with MAC OS X and IOS required
Knowledge and/or experience working with a VMware Horizon VDI environment required
Experience with desktop imaging and administration, automated software deployment, and group policy management required
Experience with Microsoft Office 365 administration required
Experience In Support Issues Required
Understanding of network and server services including Active Directory, Microsoft supporting Cisco VPN requests and DHCP, Microsoft DNS required
Ability to work independently by own initiative required
Strong problem solving and communication skills required
Solid organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously required
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in MIS or related field preferred
Certifications in MCSA, Network+, A+ desired
