Responsibilities

Lead your technical team to design a product that conforms to requirements, on schedule, within budget
Manage scope creep
Serve as the program’s technical lead for engineering execution, system performance, and compliance with requirements across multiple product lifecycle stages
Communicate technical progress, challenges, and opportunities to senior leadership and government stakeholders
Provide technical direction and oversight to subsystem leads, IPTs, and specialty engineering disciplines to ensure design maturity, integration, and risk mitigation
Mentor and develop technical staff, fostering a culture of innovation, rigor, and collaboration across the engineering organization

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET accredited university
17 years or more of progressive engineering experience or 15+ years experience with Masters degree
Experience in a lead or chief engineer role on large DoD or aerospace program
Demonstrated success leading complex, multi-disciplinary engineering teams supporting concurrent development, integration, test, and production
Excellent technical judgment and ability to communicate complex issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
Experience with formal design review processes (PDR/CDR), configuration management, and risk management practices
Active DoD Secret security clearance
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama, AL, area

Preferred

Experience with radar, EO/IR, or other advanced sensing technologies
Experience with mobile military primer movers (FMTV) and power generation (AMMPS)
Experience with government development testing
