They are seeking a Rotorcraft Dynamics and Comprehensive Analysis Summer Intern to support rotorcraft engineering efforts through validation and application of comprehensive analysis and simulation tools.
Research
Responsibilities
Apply comprehensive rotorcraft analysis tools (e.g., RCAS, CAMRAD) to assess rotorcraft dynamics, aeroelasticity, loads, stability, and control
Use high-fidelity tools such as Helios to complement comprehensive analyses and support cross-validation of results
Verify and validate dynamic and aeroelastic models to support rotorcraft design and performance assessment
Document methods, analyses, and findings
Qualification
Required
Knowledge in rotorcraft dynamics and comprehensive analysis, including aeroelastic and coupled aerodynamic–structural modeling
Experience with comprehensive rotorcraft analysis tools (e.g., RCAS, CAMRAD II, or similar)
Strong background in rotorcraft structural dynamics, and unsteady aerodynamics
Experience with scientific computing and application of analysis tools
M.S. in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
Preferred
Experience with comprehensive analysis tools such as RCAS
Familiarity with whirl flutter analysis for rotorcraft
Familiarity with CREATE-AV Helios or similar rotorcraft simulation tools
