The Digital Forensics Senior Examiner is responsible for leading complex data collections and forensic investigations across a wide range of digital devices, platforms, and data sources, while guiding junior team members and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Law Practice
Responsibilities
Lead onsite forensic data collections of laptops, mobile devices, and other ESI
Perform forensic analysis of electronic evidence from data sources
Present findings from forensic analysis to clients verbally and/or in written format, including providing expert testimony, as needed
Develop and refine internal forensic workflows, SOPs, and technical documentation to improve team efficiency and consistency
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior examiners and evidence technicians, fostering skill development and quality control
Support cross-departmental strategic initiatives
Help develop client relationships through client meetings and presentations
Travel as needed to support engagements (including on short notice) – anticipated 20%-40%
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Digital Forensics or adjacent field
5-7 years experience of hands-on experience with collections, examinations, reporting, and testimony preparation
Expertise using forensic tools, including: AXIOM, Cellebrite UFED, Forensic Email Collector, Forensic Explorer, FTK Suite
Experience in: Computer programming/scripting, databases, cyber security, incident response
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Proficiency in office software (Microsoft Office Suite, project management suites, etc.)
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with various departments
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to lift, carry, and transport evidence and equipment weighing up to 40 lbs occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation. Heavier items may be moved with assistance or mechanical aid as appropriate
Strict adherence to confidentiality and security protocols
Preferred
Strongly preferred certifications: GFCE, GFCA, CCE, EnCE, CFCE, CCME
