Senior Simulator Program Developer

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is one of the most successful airports globally, recognized for its innovation and excellence. They are seeking a Senior Simulator Program Developer to oversee ground vehicle simulation training and develop interactive learning content for various internal and external customers. The role involves managing technical training programs, analyzing performance data, and maintaining the simulation systems.
Airlines/Aviation

Responsibilities

Develops CFR 139 interactive training programs, operator technical training curriculum, and materials for internal and external customers
Conducts interactive radio communication training to ensure compliance with FAA CFR 139 requirements
Represents the Operations Department on technical training simulation issues with internal and external customers: DFW Board departments, airline employees (including cargo and ground handlers), contractors, concessionaires, and tenants
Collects, analyzes, and reports performance data from multiple data sources
Assists in developing supporting documentation to procure various studies; develops project plans and oversees development of such plans
Working knowledge of e-Learning Management System in order to create content, record simulations sessions, and retrieve historical data
Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs the ground vehicle simulation system including physical equipment, software, and network configuration
Participates in devising, researching, analyzing, justifying and evaluating new training simulation products for use in Air Operation’s Area (AOA) and Aircraft Movement Area (AMA)
Directs program analyses with multiple departments
Projects a professional image to transportation and travel industry professionals
Researches relevant forecast data and develop plans to synchronize operating plans, budgets, and organizational design with forecast demand
Analyzes new business development strategies and evaluates potential revenue on the virtual vehicle driving simulator
Analyzes competing business proposals to evaluate the effectiveness, policy compliance, cost/benefit relationship, and return on investment characteristics of the proposals

Required

Bachelor's degree in business administration, industrial engineering, psychology or a related field
Three (3) years of professional level experience in facilitating computer-type learning systems, including stand-up training
Aviation experience in an airport environment
Project lead experience
Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above
Possession of a valid Class C driver's license
Knowledge of the principles, practices, and accepted standards of regulatory mandates and compliance
Knowledge of and ability to interpret CFR 139, FAA Advisory Circulars
Knowledge of the airport/airline transportation industry, its business processes, and organizational/operational matrix
General knowledge of interactive software
Plans, prioritizes, completes work efficiently, and manages multiple tasks simultaneously
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Previous experience with online content management systems
Ability to work independently with internal and external customers, and employees
Ability to read, understands, interpret and explain legal documents, rules and regulations
Ability to apply standard techniques of research and analysis and make recommendations in the area of the ramp safety operations
Ability to communicate and correspond effectively and correctly in written and spoken English at all levels internally and externally of organizations
Ability to maintain effective consensus building and harmonious internal and external working relationships at all levels
Ability to prepare and present clear and concise oral and written reports
Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and supervise the work of others
Demonstrates a sense of urgency when working with both internal and external customers
Ability to work shifts other than day shift
Must obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Airport Identification/Access Badge (badge) in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements in Chapter 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 1500 et al., and DFW Airport's Airport Security Program within thirty (30) days from date of employment and maintain qualification for a SIDA badge upon each badge renewal
Ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security Customs and Border Protection (CBP) security access clearance within thirty (30) days from date of employment and maintain qualification for CBP security access clearance upon each CBP security access renewal
This is a designated safety sensitive position as defined in DFW Airport's Drug and Alcohol Administrative Policy and Procedure. Applicants selected for this position will be required to pass a drug test prior to employment and to submit to drug screening on a random basis during the length of their employment in the safety sensitive position

Preferred

Master's degree in aeronautical science or another area of science
Supervisory experience
Knowledge of adult learning theory
Expert level knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
Working knowledge of Adobe Captivate, video editing, Articulate or other e-Learning technologies
Knowledge of and ability to interpret CFR 139, and FAA Advisory Circulars
Bilingual – Spanish
