Responsibilities

Develop complex code using best practices and ensure the design and implementation fit within the system and requirements, ensuring performance measures are met
Produce and review software deliverables and documentation throughout the design, development, testing and implementation phases
Participate in peer code reviews and offer suggestions to improve code or correct potential design, functional, or performance issues
Participate in meetings with technical and non-technical personnel
Work closely with all project team members (including project managers, developers, testers and business partners)
Identify issues and provide solutions to issues that arise during software development and testing
Train and mentor junior developer staff in development methodology, software development lifecycle and establish business processes
Provide project updates and status to team leads and/or management
Ability to work on several projects, production issues, and day to day operations simultaneously
Attend work regularly and observe approved work hours in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

High School diploma or equivalent is required
Minimum of five (5) years' experience in designing, developing, and deploying mobile applications is required
Experience with .Net platform, .Net Multi-platform App UI (MAUI) framework, and Microsoft Visual Studio, is required
If driving is required, must possess a valid driver license from state of residence
Working knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly assimilate information related to TXDPS, State and Federal regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies and procedures
Knowledge of management/supervisory methods and principles, performance/productivity standards, and fiscal/budget management
Ability to develop plans, policies, and procedures for efficient workflow and overall effectiveness
Ability to provide clear direction to others, promote teamwork and motivate others to accomplish goals
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and appropriate levels of proficiency with utilized software and systems (e.g. CAPPS, SharePoint) and be able to learn new software/systems
Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and multiple software methodologies, i.e. Waterfall and AGILE
Knowledge of program design & specifications & system architecture as related to developing code unit testing and debugging
Knowledge of development practices for designing, developing (coding), and implementing applications for complex business solutions
Skill in designing programs and systems logic for coding, testing and correcting errors in computer programs
Must demonstrate an ability to exercise poise, tact, diplomacy and an ability to establish and maintain positive, working/professional relationships with internal/external customers
Must be organized, flexible, and able to effectively prioritize in a multi-demand and constantly changing environment; able to meet multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines without sacrificing accuracy, timeliness or professionalism
Must be able to construct and deliver clear, concise, and professional presentations and/or communications to a variety of audiences and/or individuals
Must demonstrate ability to quickly and efficiently access relevant information and be able to utilize and/or present research and conclusions in a clear and concise manner

Must be able to work in safe manner at all times, avoiding shortcuts that have potential adverse results/risks, and must be able to comply with safety standards and best practices
Availability for after-hours, holidays, emergencies and weekend work may be required

Preferred

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics or a related field
Three (3) years' experience in a structured (SDLC) Software Development Live Cycle environment
Experience with Mobile Development for Android and Apple mobile devices
