Intern-Strategic Payment Relationships (SPR)

Responsibilities
Assists with provider enrollment, revalidation, and maintenance activities for payer networks, including data review and documentation support
Supports analysis and reconciliation of provider enrollment data across internal systems and external payer platforms to ensure accuracy and compliance
Maintains and validates provider demographic, credentialing, and participation data used for payer network management and reimbursement activities
Performs basic data analysis related to payer enrollment status, network participation, and operational performance metrics
Prepares reports, spreadsheets, and project summaries to support Provider Enrollment and Strategic Payment Relationships initiatives
Collaborates with Provider Enrollment, SPR, Credentialing, Revenue Cycle, and other internal stakeholders to support cross-functional workflows
Participates in assigned projects designed to improve efficiency, data integrity, or operational processes within Provider Enrollment
Meets regularly with an assigned Manager or Mentor to review progress, discuss learning objectives, and receive guidance and feedback
Consistently delivers excellent customer service while demonstrating respect, professionalism, and collaboration in interactions with internal partners, providers, and external payer representatives

Qualification
Required
Two years of high school required
Some internships may require a bachelor's degree; or enrolled in and nearing completion of an undergraduate degree or terminal degree in a field relevant to the internship
Ability to work efficiently, manage time wisely, and follow policies and procedures with minimal supervision
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Demonstrated initiative, professionalism, and willingness to learn
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
Must be at least 16 years of age
Assignments that use chemicals or power tools require intern to be at least 18 years of age
Preferred
Currently enrolled Master of Health Administration (MHA) student highly desired
