Responsibilities

Proficiency in reading P&IDs and technical specifications is key
Install, and maintain panel integration including PLCs, VFDs, RIOs and measurement instruments on existing or new plant equipment and troubleshoot process control systems (control valves, flow meters, temperature sensors, pressure sensors, actuators, leak switches)
Work with low voltage systems such as building automation, security, and data communication networks
Interpret and use electrical schematics, control diagrams and P&IDs for installation and troubleshooting HVAC equipment, Process skids, and MFG equipment
Preform Preliminary Commissioning activities including but not limited to loop checks, device configurations, OATs, Motor IDs, and network configuration
Supporting controls group in troubleshooting, upgrading and new installation of systems by consulting manuals, reading, and interpreting circuit diagrams, blueprints, and schematics
Liaison with facilities operations and manufacturing teams to turnover completed and functional utility process including Safety Interlocks

Required

5+ years of experience as a journeyman Controls Technician specializing in low voltage and controls (technical degree or trade school preferred)
Strong understanding in comprehending wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and P&ID drawings, motor controls, drives, and electronic components
Working knowledge of low voltage electrical systems from 24VDC to 480VAC
Working knowledge of networking and telecommunication wiring
Experience with mechanical process, building automation, data infrastructure, and security systems
Ability to perform Preliminary Commissioning activities including but not limited to loop checks, device configurations, OATs, Motor IDs, and network configuration
Strong knowledge of safety procedures, the ability to work at heights up to 80 ft, willingness to travel as needed
