Responsibilities

Perform engineering assessments, life safety and code analyses, calculations, and fire protection system design under the direction of senior engineers and project managers
Design fire protection systems for commercial, institutional, industrial, and mission-critical facilities
Develop 3D models and designs for sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, and means of egress to support integrated building design efforts
Conduct detailed code analyses to ensure fire protection and life safety requirements are properly incorporated into project designs
Serve as a project lead, supporting project execution and technical decision-making
Mentor and train junior staff, providing guidance on design standards, tools, and best practices

Required

5+ Years experience in the field of fire protection engineering
Strong familiarity with International Code Council (ICC) codes and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards
Experience in sprinkler system and fire alarm system design
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and/or other related design software
Working knowledge of egress modeling, sprinkler layout tools, and sprinkler hydraulic calculation software
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Engineering (or related engineering discipline) from an ABET-accredited four-year university
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
Proven experience in planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring engineering projects
Proven experience in project management roles, with a track record of successful project delivery
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to construction management, quality assurance, and safety protocols
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
