Responsibilities
Work hands-on to support the design, testing, and development of food packaging equipment and mechanical systems
Test, troubleshoot, assemble, modify, and improve food packaging equipment and mechanical components
Support equipment performance improvements and mechanical reliability initiatives
Design new equipment concepts and components using SolidWorks
Prepare and update engineering drawings and documentation for ongoing projects
Plan and conduct testing of machines to validate performance and fitness for use in the field
Assist with experiments supporting the development of new products and processes under the direction of experienced engineers
Assist with field installations and tests as needed
Support application and equipment performance verification in customer or plant environments
Qualification
Required
Completed at least 1.5 years preferred (minimum 1 year) toward a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
Minimum 2.5 GPA
Authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship
Must be able to handle and be in direct contact with raw meat and protein products
Able to provide own transportation to the co-op location
Able to work 10+ hour days in 40°F environments as needed
Ability to travel up to 30%
Preferred
Knowledge of general lab and machine shop practices
Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude
Familiarity with SolidWorks
