Responsibilities

Understand Value Based Care contracting terms, and understand performance drivers (Outcomes- Quality, Risk and Utilization)
Review the reporting criteria and requirements that can help achieve Market performance improvement
Perform predictive analytics to project performance on an ongoing basis, and identify the outliers
Provide constructive feedback to ensure the analytical outcome is process improvement oriented and avoids duplication of efforts
Create analytics that identify opportunities to improve outcomes through population health management programs
Develop reporting that measures performance and outcomes for population health programs, quality measures, and HCC analytics
Lead complex analyses deriving key performance indicators, document assumptions and parameters, and create analytic collateral
Incorporate and provide data quality assurance on analytic deliverables created within the department
Develop and document project specific scope that defines inclusion and exclusion criteria, required value sets, workflows involved, eligible code types, lookback periods, and other parameters
Work cross-departmentally to support the scaling of data models and reports as needed
Act as Business/Data Analyst on line of business client/contract performance and opportunities
Lead the creation of processes for data inventory, code collaborating, and other efficiencies for a technical team
Collaborate with Performance Improvement and Market Economics to ensure appropriate quality assurance of all data
Support performance drivers projections, including analysis of supporting quality, risk and utilization programs
Continue to review and revisit analysis to ensure it is in line with our performance drivers/KPIs
Develop and/or modify dashboards and reports using business intelligence (BI) programs (Tableau, Power BI)
Communication on completed analysis to internal and external (client) stakeholders explaining results—process improvement opportunities, trended metrics, variance in metrics
Analyze episode benchmarking data, reports, processes and measurements for performance indicators
Forecast costs, utilization trends and develop financial models using claims and other healthcare data
Plan, coordinate, and develop high-quality, specialized documents, written reports and presentations for client organizations
Manage projects, meetings, and communications as it relates to assigned deliverables
Communication on results of claims analysis to internal and external (client) stakeholders explaining results, financial implications, gainsharing models and design(s), and other-value based payment programs
Independently interpret data, facts and/or trends

Required

BA in Health Administration, Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Statistics
5-7+ years of experience with a health plan or other risk bearing healthcare business in an analytical role
Skilled in Microsoft SQL Server, Excel, Power Pivot, Power BI and/or Tableau
Experience performing analysis on population health programs
Experience analyzing quality measure opportunities in Commercial, Medicare, & Medicaid
Experience with various risk adjustment models (CMS-HCC, HHS-HCC, etc.)
Desire to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively within and across departments
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Ability to relate your work to the goals of the business

Preferred

MA/MS in a related field is a plus
