Responsibilities

Identify, develop, evaluate, and introduce engineering solutions to meet near term and long-range Fuel Cycle needs
Provide technical consultation on product problems including providing technical guidance, direction, and training to new and experienced bundle & core design engineers and contributing to developing and defining state-of-the-art bundle & core designs, procedures, and processing to improve engineering quality, performance, and market needs
Lead and provide the key technical direction to large projects with critical business impact
Maintain an active role in developing and defining the state of the art in own technical specialty in fuel cycle analysis in order to anticipate, apply, adapt or develop technologies for product introduction, quality, performance, cost improvements and problem resolution in meeting current and future business needs including adherence to schedules and estimated costs
Support other GE businesses, internal & external customers, and suppliers as required
Provide technical consultation to cross-functional teams throughout the business to improve or resolve manufacturing, product center, supplier, or field issues
Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation, and presentation of technical data to internal and external GE customers using reports, records, and letters
Use knowledge and expertise to market winning proposals in anticipation of business product needs
Prepare invention disclosures to protect technology that gives the business a competitive advantage, as well as protecting the intellectual property rights of the company
Provide technical guidance, direction and training to new and experienced materials engineers, specialists, technicians, and co-ops

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in nuclear engineering, physics, computational methods or a closely related technical discipline AND 8 years of experience specializing in one of the following areas: Reload Design & Analysis, Thermal Hydraulic Methods, Neutronics Methods, LOCA, Containment, and Stability Analysis, Radiological Analysis, or Transient Analysis
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government

Preferred

Prior experience with BWR technology
Working knowledge of nuclear reactor core licensing, technical specifications, safety margin bases, code methodology licensing, and related federal regulations
Demonstrated ability to make decisions with speed and accuracy based on the best available information
Exceptional organization skills
Legacy of delivering on commitments; tenacious, with a proven track record of overcoming obstacles; ability to achieve stretch targets
Strong external focus; clear and demonstrated understanding of nuclear industry and/or energy industry
Lean and continuous improvement mindset
Programming experience with Fortran, Python, and C#
Experience with BWR core simulator and use of 3-Dimensional neutron kinetics codes
Experience performing technical evaluations and providing technical support in the areas of nuclear fuel bundle and core design, reload licensing, cycle management, and core monitoring databanks
Knowledge of USNRC licensing requirements
Knowledge of US utility outage planning processes
Master's degree from an accredited university or college in nuclear engineering, physics, computational methods or a closely related technical discipline AND Minimum of 6 years of experience specializing in one of the following areas: Reload Design & Analysis, Thermal Hydraulic Methods, Neutronics Methods, LOCA, Containment, and Stability Analysis, Radiological Analysis, or Transient Analysis
Ph.D. from an accredited university or college in nuclear engineering, physics, computational methods or a closely related technical discipline AND Minimum of 5 years of experience specializing in one of the following areas: Reload Design & Analysis, Thermal Hydraulic Methods, Neutronics Methods, LOCA, Containment, and Stability Analysis, Radiological Analysis, or Transient Analysis
