Master Level Internships - Fall 2026
The Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester is dedicated to improving mental health and quality of life. They are seeking Master Level Interns to provide individual psychotherapy and case management, participate in group therapy, and support community-based patient care.

Responsibilities
Provide individual psychotherapy and targeted case management to patients with primary diagnoses including Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Panic Disorder, Bipolar I and II Disorders, and other specified personality and mood disorders
Observe and participate in group therapy, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Anger Management, and Substance Recovery groups, based on their interests
Receive formal training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Zero Suicide practices, along with ongoing support in the implementation of DBT, CPT, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
See a minimum of five patient contacts during an eight-hour workday
Monitor and support patient adherence to prescribed, pre-packaged medications
Assist patients with accessing and navigating community resources, including the Department of Health and Human Services, Social Security, medical appointments, and essential needs such as grocery shopping
Assess patient symptoms and provide appropriate therapeutic interventions in community settings
Participate in required trainings to strengthen and expand clinical and therapeutic skills
Engage in timely and accurate daily clinical documentation within the electronic medical record
Participate in treatment team meetings, and coordinate with outpatient providers and community resources to support discharge planning and ongoing care
Qualification
Required
Must be enrolled at an accredited university
Receiving credit for the internship
Be able to commute to the office as these are not remote internships
All internships are unpaid, and we do require flu vaccinations
Due to the limited number of openings Internships are not guaranteed to all who apply
This internship requires a reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and active automobile insurance, as this role involves extensive community-based travel
Preferred
Second-year master level students
Availability from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., approximately 24 hours a week, for two to three weekdays, depending on academic requirements and program expectations
